Des Reaves before the transformation

D Reaves - Before

When [First Name] first came to True Beginnings in 2020, she was facing incarceration, caught in probation and addiction, and estranged from her family. Life felt hopeless, and she struggled to see a future for herself. She was influential, but in the wrong ways — following rules only when required and vulnerable to anyone who pulled her off track.

Turning Point:
But at True Beginnings, she found more than structure — she found support, consistency, and people who refused to give up on her. Even when she didn’t believe in herself, we stood as an open door.

Des Reaves happy and living life on life's terms

D Reaves - Now

Her story is one of resilience and second chances. Your gift makes journeys like hers possible — turning struggle into stability and loss into new life.

Testimony

Today, D Reaves is employed, living independently, and in a healthy relationship. She’s choosing happiness every day. Even after being diagnosed with sickle cell anemia, she stayed strong, cared for her health, and stayed away from relapse. This November, she’ll be returning to Nevada to join InNeed Service Solutions as a team member — proof that at True Beginnings, we never leave anyone behind. Our doors are always open for our sisters, alumni, and current clients.
